How to Start Affiliate Marketing- 4 Steps to Get You On Your Way
Affiliate marketing is at the top of the list for the most popular and easiest way to make money online. It's a mighty profitable way to earn a lot of money so you have some extra spending cash. You've probably heard all about affiliate marketing but just in case you are a little fuzzy on what the whole process is, I'll give you a brief description.
What is Affiliate Marketing? This is the process of promoting other people's products. If a sale is made because of your promotion and marketing for them, you will earn a commission of the money that they earn. This is why it's one of the easiest ways while also being the most profitable way to make money online. If you are looking to start affiliate marketing, you aren't the only one.
Many people want to do this but they don't really know where to start or how to begin but there is no need to feel confused anymore because I'm here to help. Here are the steps that you need to take to get yourself started with affiliate marketing!
Step #1: Research Products
You need to find a product that you would be interested in promoting. You don't have to find a specific product just yet, you can simply find a niche that interests you. Don't select a broad niche as this could end up wasting your time. It's good to narrow it down to the products in that niche that are interesting to you. For example, parenting is a niche but you want to go deeper into it like parenting twins without going insane.
Step #2: Build a Website
If you aren't all that motivated or interested in making your own website or blog just yet, you can always create a Squidoo lens instead for the time being. It's important that you create content that will make people actually want to buy the product because you are recommending it! You don't want your viewers to feel as if you are forcing them to into buying the product you are promoting to them. Mention all of it's benefits and talk about what the product will do for them and their lives. Be humorous and always write in first person without talking about yourself too much. You don't want to be too stiff or formal, this will chase viewers away and you won't sell any of the products. It's always best to post a few pictures. Starting at a lot of words can be a pain, pictures will help viewers see what the product is really about.
Step #3: Back link to Your Site
This is when there is a link to your site on other sites that will lead viewers directly to you. Place a link at the end of your articles and webpage so that people can take it and put it on their websites. More people will do this if you do this for them in return. No, the links won't take that much away from your content just as your links won't take away from other people's websites.
Step #4: Email Marketing
Have a news form on your content sites so those who are interested in can learn more from you. It's important to keep a relationship with those who do this. You will need to find a list hosting site that will help you keep track of your email addresses. Be careful not spam those on your list, this will make them turn away from you very quickly. They will block you and you will waste your time trying to do email marketing. You can also do your own hosting for email marketing but it's easier to do it through list hosting sites.
Ask yourself these questions to be sure that you are moving in the right direction:
What market should you be targeting?
Are you targeting the correct market for the product you are promoting? If you don't know the right market to target, you won't get any sales because there won't be any interest in the product. Once you figure out who you should be targeting, you should make sure that you are targeting that market correctly.
Targeting the correct market and audience is a very important part of affiliate marketing. Just as well as search engine optimizing is. You want your webpage to be decently high ranked when your keywords are searched for. Of course it won't be as high as the original product itself but you still want it to be noticeable to viewers.
